How we source and select this strain
Gold is a drying name, not a vein colour. The leaf spends longer drying than a standard batch, which is where the name comes from. The leaf is dried under cover rather than in open sun, then milled and sieved. We buy one harvest per batch instead of mixing several harvests together, so what you receive stays consistent from the top of the bag to the bottom.
Before a batch is listed, we check it against the same standards every time. We look at the colour and the grind, we confirm the batch matches the paperwork the grower sent, and we send a sample to an outside laboratory. If a batch fails any part of that check, we do not sell it. That is the whole selection process, and it is the reason this listing sometimes goes out of stock rather than being topped up with leaf from somewhere else.
